Essential Vitamins from Nutri 10 Plus

We were blessed to receive our Nutri 10 Vitamins from Wert. I have been searching for a vitamin brand that I can give my active boys and Nutri 10 fits our needs.

Being a mom of four boys, we rely heavily with their daily vitamins apart from their eating habits.

Kyle, my 2nd son who is 10 years old loves to play basketball and is always on the move. He plays with his indoor hoop after studying.

God entrusted pur children to us and as parents we always need to give them what is essential for their health so they can grow to do glorifying works for the Lord.

Homeschool 201

We were blessed to have the support of our homeschool provider - Homeschool Global to better equip us as Parent Teachers.We had a workshop today about Curriculum Mapping.

This is very useful for us so we can always be on track with our goals and follow a timeline.

It will also help us to prevent redundancy and plan what needs to be taught.

I was struggling on doing a lesson plan this year especially that I am doing multilevel homeschooling.

Curriculum mapping will serve as a blueprint for our school year.

HS 201 is a 4 week training every Friday that will discuss different topicss.

I have started doing our lesson plan for this year and I was delighted when the speaker talked about integrating the Bible with Math, Science and other subjects.

We have been using the Bible as our main textbook and it reveals so many learnings for us.

Application is also important with what we have learned. 

Learning applied is wisdom.

We are homeschooling our children from the moment they wake up until they sleep at night. It is all about life and the world is our big school.

Are your Circuits too Busy?

I was so blessed today with the devotion that I read from You Version a Bible App that you can download in Google Play for Android and the App Store for Iphones and Ipads.

The titles is "Hearing the Voice of God" a devotional by Rick Warren.

I felt like sharing the content of today's devotion because it gives us a reminder not to allow our lives to be clogged and be too busy that the noise in our hearts and minds are so loud we cannot hear God.

I was convicted as I read the content of the devotion.

Guilty as charged.

Many times in the morning my circuit will be busy thinking about our plans for the day, activities especially if we need to go somewhere. Thoughts would ran into my mind VS clearing it up so I will be ready with my Quiet Time. 

God is so good. He taught me that my day is all about Him.

The moment I wake up. I learned to asked the Lord " How can I please you today? What can I do for you today? 

More of Him less of me.

However there are times that when I sit in our study table I will start to think of a lot of stuff rather than meditating in His Words first. Like today, He got me covered. He has all the answers with my plans and worries. All I need to do is to allow Him to consume me first so I can Hear Him. 

He has my life planned. He knows when I needed feeding for my spiritual life and He will always come to the rescue. God knows when we needed a reminder so we will always be On track.

He is an amazing God.

The weeds in our lives make our minds too crowded that when these weeds started to grow, we need to be quiet and be intimate with the Lord.

Our concerns and the clutter in our hearts and minds will be gone as soon as we allow ourselves to Hear His voice. Loud and clear.

Are Your Circuits Too Busy?

Read today's verses.

You can’t hear God if your mind is crowded with other thoughts or concerns — particularly worries, plans, and activities. If you’re always listening to the radio or the TV, when God calls you, the circuits are going to be busy. You’ve got to eliminate the distractions.

Jesus says in Luke 8:7, “Some other seeds fell where thornbushes grew up and choked the plants” (CEV).

The kind of soil with weeds in it was actually planted with crops and begins to grow. But as it grows, weeds grow up around it, and the weeds begin to choke out the life of the vegetable or the plant, so it never bears fruit.

Here’s what Jesus says is the meaning of Luke 8:7: “The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature” (Luke 8:14 NIV).

There are three things that choke out hearing God:

Worry. Worries are weeds. When you’re so busy with the problems and pressures of daily living, it makes it harder to hear God.

Riches. You can be so busy trying to pay your bills, so busy trying to get out of debt, so busy trying to make more, and so busy making a living that you don’t make a life.

Pleasure. There’s nothing wrong with pleasure. But God said that when you’re so busy pursuing fun, you miss him and his plans for your life.

You don’t have to cultivate weeds. They grow automatically, don’t they? In fact, weeds are a sign of neglect. If you see weeds in your yard or garden, it means you’re not tending your yard or garden. The weeds in your spiritual life are a sign that you’re neglecting time with God.

When all the circuits are busy, you need to get quiet.

The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. - Luke 8:14

Graceful Mess Homeschooling Day

I stayed late last Tuesday night preparing our lesson plan for our homeschool.

I needed to have a lesson plan for our homeschooling so I do not need to cram.

For days, I prayed for the Lord to lead me in our studies. There's a lot of books and curriculum to choose from and my time was consumed by looking for the best books to use.

But God led me in using the Bible as our main textbook. We are studying the book of Genesis and it keeps us closer to God studying The Creation and incorporating it with Science, Geography, Math and with other subjects.

We used other resources too. 

Because of sleeping late I experienced the consequence of waking up at 8am and I needed to be ready for our homeschool by 10 am. I was like Lord I need your strength.

I have been teaching Kyle about responsibility and punctuality. He should be ready for our homeschool by 10 am and so am I. But I was rushing today, with more than a dozen of bottles to clean at 9am plus I needed to give Sean and Simone a bath, mop the floor and cook lunch. Aside from that, I needed to photocopy their worksheets too.

Kyle has been diligent in following his call time.

By God's grace, all of us were ready by 10:10 am. I was 10 minutes late, while Kyle was ready on time.

As I was preparing I thought...Why was I not ready? 

God was waiting for me to speak to Him, the moment I woke up.

And I missed our date.

It has been my goal to prioritize Him each day, to read His words and pray and have my Quiet time. I needed His grace, His presence to fill me.

"Apart from me, you can do nothing" - John 15:5

It is only through Him that I am able. 

While I was rushing with all my chores. All I can do is pray, and He was merciful as He allowed my children to cooperate. 

I was glad we were ready 10 minutes past 10am. We were all sitting in our study table and we began our day singing worship song and a prayer. 

Kyle started with his Bible Reading and we discussed it afterwards.

Sean and Simone were able to finish their worksheets for the day. Though they were very competitive and would really ask for my attention, they managed to accomplish their work. There were little cryings on the side but we were able to settle it.

After a job well done I gave them their rewards.

We do not allow them to watch T.V. until 6 pm. It allowed my kids to have more time to read too.

This would also mean a messy home instead. We had our toys everywhere and a lot of clutter. Looking at our messy home, it will usually stress me out. But I asked God not to allow the clutter of our home to distract me of my goal each day.

I prayed that these clutters will not enter my heart and result to a bad temper.

Only God knows my heart and He is answering all our needs as we surrender our homeschooling to him.

When God called me to homeschool I became more dependent on Him, asking Him to lead us each day.

Without His leading, we will be lost.

And I praise God that after so many days that I tried to train my toddlers and asked them to clean up they finally got it. Unlike before, when they would put back one toy, they would think they are done. Sean was more diligent in doing this while Simone is still work in progress.

We had our Read Aloud later in the afternoon. We are studying the Oceans as a group. We are following the story of The Creation and God revealed so many wonders of his power in creating all of these for His glory.

They love this colorful book from national geographic that we purchased through Kindle. It is cheaper and we need to minimize having all these books piling up as try to simplify our homeschool, plus we don't need to worry about it being ripped :)

We enjoyed reading " My First Big Book of the Ocean" together and learn more about it until they fell asleep. We do read alouds whenever I would like them to take a nap in the afternoon. It works for us :)

While they were sleeping I looked at our home and there were areas that were messy. 

But at the end of the day, homeschooling is about filling their hearts with joy, love and laughter. The mess in our home is an easy fix. But fixing broken men will be harder. 

More of our hearts, less the clutter of this world.

More of Him, less of me.

I am joyful and grateful that I gave this season of my life to the Lord and to our family. It is the desires of our hearts to see our children growing with the Lord and becoming God fearing men that will be discipler of Jesus.

Mommy, Can I tell you a Secret?

More than a week ago,  I took my 3 kids on a date. Nothing fancy, we just walked in the mall for hours and had a late lunch. and ice cream.

While my toddlers were busy carrying their bags and enjoying the walk, Kyle told me: Mommy, can I tell you a secret?

Instantly, I had my full attention on him ready to listen. I thought he would share some old stories and all, but I was surprised. This was something new for me for a child at the age of 10. 

My eldest Ivan, is more of a serious type of son. He would speak and share some stories but He is more into games and techy stuff. He is now a teenager and enjoys to do the same things when he was younger.

Anyway, I did not expect this confession that Kyle shared. The statement popped in and it goes like this...Mommy, I have a crush!

Whoa! I had a blank face, stunned and speechless. Did not even know how to react!

I tried my best to stay compose as God whispered to me...Do not overreact he is still a child and needs guidance. 

I encouraged Kyle to tell me more about it and he did. I saw that there was a relief in his face when he was able to share it with me.

There were smiles and giggles in between his stories and he kept on sharing it with me over lunch. 

I kept on listening and allowed him to share every detail of it.

The following day I spoke to him again about it. I asked how he understood the meaning of crush and he said it is like an inspiration to him. I asked another question again...what did he like about the girl?

I began to wonder while looking at him. How can this boy have a crush at ten? But God made me realized that he is a growing child and the blessing of this is, he feels comfortable in sharing it with me rather than sharing it with others.

He has an easy access to Arnel and I whenever he needs somebody to talk to and share his insights.

Few days passed after his confession, he did not open any conversation anymore about his crush, then I thought he might just felt flattered when the girl told her that she has a crush on him and now he forgot about it. 

After listening to his stories, I made it a point that I was able to remind him about our house rule when it comes to this matter. We also set this to his Kuya Ivan and will apply to his little brothers too.

It is just normal to have an inspiration but they need to graduate and finish their schooling first before they can have a relationship with women that they would eventually like. Our prayer is for the Lord to lead them to godly women that they can serve with and build a godly family.

This was set clear and I praise God that our eldest Ivan was able to attend a Purity Ball in our church.

Purity was explained clearly and we are doing several follow through whenever we have our family devotion. He is wearing his purity ring on his finger until now. He is 19 and remaining to be pure can only be possible by a lot of constant prayer and God's grace.

It is a great experience to have your children speak to you about how they feel and what is currently going on in their heart. But everything will only be possible by building a Christ-like character which requires a lot of grace from the Lord and prayer.

Our children's generation is far from what I have been through before but I praise God that He gave us the opportunity to homeschool them which brought us to a deeper relationship with out children. They have friends with out coop, sunday school and our dgroup family but it is comforting to know that they TRUST us in seeking advise and sharing their thoughts. They depend on us, but  our goal is to lead them to be more dependent to the Lord first and to abide His Words.

Learn and Play

Learn and Play

Yesterday we had a blast with our homeschooling coop. All boys homeschoolers from each family for now.

We started with our devotion and to make it more interesting we connected it with an egg experiment and had a trivia about brown eggs too.

Our Bible verse yesterday:

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?" - Matthew 5:13

The jar represents the world we live in. The egg represents the children of God (us).

We asked each boy to put the coffee (for darker water color) and described how we are like the egg sinking into the world at times when we are disobedient.

Then we pulled out another jar with water and asked them to put salt in it. When we dropped the egg it floated.

After our devotion it was time for the kids to have their activity. Mommy Irinne prepared a Van Gogh type of art and she also gave a trivia about the artist and connected Math in computing for his age. Very creative Mommy :)

We needed to wait for their art to dry up before we can apply pastel colors. We decided to have our lunch first and the kids has their time in the playground after. And of course we had our coffee break, mommy talk and a short devotion from the book "How many times do I have to tell you" by Rachael Carman.

It is difficult at times to deal with the challenges that we go through but hearing each mom sharing their experiences and how they deal with it gave me more encouragement that they too experience the same but by God's grace we are overcomes and still not giving up on our children's challenges.

Stories about schedule, learning to love reading, study habits, were our main topic. We also talked about our marriage.

It was a rewarding time to have our homeschooling coop.

The kids had a blast playing and socializing together.

We saw how they tend to feel frustrated when they cannot do things right while they work and it was a blessing to see how other children responds and other techniques from the mommies in encouraging their kids.

We observed how our children interact, connect and handle misunderstandings with peers.
This was a major point for me because it helped me to see, know and to act with their untoward behavior. There were little misunderstandings while they were playing because each child is unique and may have their own likes and dislikes. But in the end they ended to sort things out and they are looking forward in seeing each other again.

Our prayer is for our group to grow in love with Jesus and may we have more meaningful meetings and a Christ centered relationship.

Kyle Turned 10

A week ago my second Kyle, turned 10. A decade of God's love and faithfulness.

I remembered when I was pregnant with him.It was my most difficult pregnancy, my weight went up and I had depression which caused me sleepless nights.

When I gave birth to him it was also my most painful experience. I remembered telling him the first time I saw him in our room " Baby you gave Mommy a hard time"

All of these became a realization when I was reading God's Word.

" A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born to the world." - John 16:21

Indeed Kyle brings joy to our family since the day he was born and I Praise God for his life.

I shared this story to him whenever we are in bed and talking. He loves listening to this on how he was born and how I saw his face the first time, that mesmerizing moment when you see your baby. I felt the story made him appreciate me more.

When he learned about this I even get a free foot massage from him every now and then without asking him. He would write me love letters and would tell me how great I am as his mom. Praise God!

We stared homeschooling him when he was 7 years old and we have seen the changes in his character and his relationship with Jesus. He loves making origami, he would even take a demo video of his own. He would also play basketball and we have his own indoor basket at home.

Kyle is a thoughtful kid. When he sees a beautiful flower he would give it to me. He also makes origami letters for us during our birthdays and other occasions.

His desire is to become a Pastor soon. I am amaze on how God transformed him.

He admits that he was a bad child before and would be disobedient most of the time and would prefer playing wrestling too.

We shared the gospel to him last March 2013, our first year of homeschooling and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior with all his heart.

This started all the positive changes in him. He started to become my accountability partner and would remind me with Bible verses whenever he sees me struggling.

I remembered when I was about to lose my temper one time and he told me. Mommy, "In your anger do not sin" - Ephesians 4:26

He is very observant and would watch each move we make. This reminded me that " Values are caught and not taught"

How we speak and communicate with him is the same as how he would use words in expressing himself. I am always teaching him not to use harsh words especially with his younger brothers but instead be kind at all times.

Our role id to model it with our children first and they would imitate what we do.

Children are great imitators what they see from us may be their concept of what is right and wrong.
When we have modeled an unpleasing behavior we explain it to them and would ask for forgiveness.

Recently,he even told me that he want to be called by his second name instead " Nathan". It made me think that he is growing and time flies so fast. My eldest son Ivan,when he aged he also had a different preference with his name he is now using his second name "Elijah".

I praise God because he gave me the opportunity to homeschool Kyle. We spend a lot of quality time together reading God's Word as we continue to seek Him.

Teaching your kids and connecting with them daily is priceless. I would always want to know what is in his heart.

I would tell Kyle that God loves him and his ultimate purpose is to glorify Him in everything that he say and do and to continue to seek Him, love Him, listen to His voice and follow Him.

He is far away from being perfect and still struggles at times, he knows that obeying the first time is  giving complete obedience to us next to the Lord. However, when he is upset and would not want to do what he was asked to, he stumbles.

We correct this behavior because it is an attitude of the heart, he listens and would obey and will try his best not to have the same behavior.

We surrendered him to the Lord and we know that we don't own him. They are our first disciples and we are God's stewards of the lives of our children. Our purpose is to teach them to " Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind" - Luke 10:27

I was convicted when I read the book " How many times do I have to tell you" The author Rachael Carman talked about Speaking of Speaking - What God wants us to hear when we Speak to our-children. It hit me,what I say to my children are the same words God is telling me.

Obey.
Listen.
No.
It's time to get up
Slow Down
Are you ready yet?
Now is not the time
What are you supposed to be doing?
Have yo prayed about it?
Pay attention.
Hold my hand.
I love you.

" He is the Good Shepherd, and He proclaim that His sheep know His voice" John 10:3-5 Are you listening?

My children are God's instrument to sanctify me, to mold me and to teach me ways that He wants me to do. Before I ask my children to listen to me I would ponder, God may be telling me the same words.

The Bible is still God's ultimate way in speaking to us. Reading His words will still stay intimate.

What I see and say to my children is also God's way of speaking to me. I am still a work in progress and my prayer is for the Lord to equip me in fulfilling my purpose to my children's lives.

" I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do" - John 17:4

I love this picture, while we were at the beach, he approached me and said " Mommy, can we have a picture together?" I pray that when he is older he will still have the desire for a photo op with me.
